Intro to Marcode
Using Autopilot AI to Manage Keywords
autopilot uses ai to automatically optimise your keyword list for maximum fraud detection by analysing recent fraud activity across your keywords, autopilot identifies which terms are catching scam and malware ads and which aren't pulling their weight it then recommends adding new keywords likely to attract fraudulent activity and removing those that rarely surface threats helping you focus your monitoring where it matters most, without constant manual adjustments how autopilot works autopilot continuously evaluates your keywords and can generate recommendations up to once per day it considers factors like seasonal trends, fraud activity levels, search volume patterns, and your custom instructions to make intelligent decisions about which keywords to add or remove when autopilot makes changes, it provides clear reasoning for each recommendation, so you always understand why keywords are being added or removed enabling autopilot navigate to keywords > autopilot settings to configure the feature you have two options for how autopilot operates autopilot enabled — when toggled on, autopilot will continuously analyse your keywords and generate recommendations automatically apply recommendations — this controls whether recommendations are applied immediately or held for your review enabled ai recommendations are automatically applied to your keyword list without manual review this is ideal if you want a hands off approach but we recommend regularly checking the autopilot tab to ensure changes align with your expectations disabled ai generates recommendations that you can review in the autopilot tab before manually applying them this gives you full control over every change important ai may occasionally make mistakes even with automatic application enabled, we recommend periodically reviewing the autopilot tab to ensure recommendations align with your brand's needs configuring autopilot settings countries & keyword targets set which countries autopilot should manage and the maximum number of keywords for each autopilot will maintain approximately one fewer than your target to leave room for any keywords you want to add manually if your current keyword count exceeds the maximum when you enable autopilot, it will gradually reduce the count by removing keywords that are least likely to attract fraud or that currently show little fraud activity click + add country to include additional markets in your monitoring keyword tenancy rules the minimum keyword age before removal setting prevents autopilot from removing keywords too quickly keywords must be active for at least this many days before autopilot will consider removing them this is important because new keywords need time to accumulate performance data and demonstrate their value the recommended setting of 30 days allows sufficient time for keywords to prove whether they attract fraud activity note autopilot may still remove keywords within this period if they've become clearly irrelevant — for example, "new year's eve" keywords added in late december would be removed in early january regardless of their age ai instructions provide custom instructions to help the ai make better decisions for your specific brand this is where you can communicate important context such as your industry and business model seasonal considerations for different markets product categories to prioritise or avoid any brand specific requirements for example, a fast fashion retailer might note that trending styles attract fraud quickly but taper off fast, or that seasonal keywords should match the climate of each target country reviewing recommendations navigate to the autopilot tab to see all ai recommendations, both pending and previously applied pending recommendations when you have "automatically apply recommendations" disabled, pending recommendations appear with an apply recommendations button each recommendation shows a summary explaining the overall strategy (e g , "optimizing for the january peak booking season") the number of keywords to be added and removed a view details link to see the specific keywords understanding recommendation details click view details to see exactly which keywords the ai wants to add or remove, along with the reasoning for each keywords to add — shows each new keyword, its target country, and why it's being recommended (e g , "captures high intent searches for next year's bookings during peak january period") keywords to remove — shows keywords being removed and explains why (e g , "outdated year; replacing with 2026 for upcoming booking season" or "redundant; another variation covers this intent and has higher hijacking activity") review these details carefully before clicking apply recommendations to ensure the changes align with your strategy applied recommendations previously applied recommendations show in the history with the date and time they were applied which ai model generated the recommendation an undo option to reverse the changes if needed if you click undo , the recommendation will be reversed however, please review the results carefully afterwards as you're responsible for ensuring your keyword list remains appropriate for your needs understanding keyword indicators in your keyword list, you'll notice two special icons ✨ sparkle icon — indicates keywords that were added by autopilot hover over the icon to see the ai's reasoning for adding that keyword 🔒 lock icon — indicates keywords that are protected from being edited or removed by autopilot use this to safeguard essential keywords that should always remain in your list regardless of ai recommendations best practices start with manual review — if you're new to autopilot, consider keeping "automatically apply recommendations" disabled initially this lets you understand how the ai thinks and ensure its decisions align with your brand before enabling full automation provide detailed ai instructions — the more context you give autopilot about your business, the better its recommendations will be include information about your industry, seasonal patterns, and any keywords that are particularly important or sensitive lock critical keywords — protect your most important brand terms and high performing keywords from accidental removal by locking them review regularly — even with automatic application enabled, check the autopilot tab periodically to ensure recommendations continue to align with your strategy adjust targets as needed — if you find autopilot is adding too many or too few keywords, adjust your country targets accordingly getting help if you'd like assistance setting up autopilot or have questions about the recommendations you're seeing, reach out to the marcode team we're happy to guide you through the configuration and help optimise the settings for your brand
